We forget we are miracles!  We become so externally focused looking outside of our Self that we fail to acknowledge the beauty we are and our life is.  Each of us the grace of the heavens in human form, living, breathing, journeying this lifetime – facing whatever comes our way!  Getting our asses handed to us, events take us to our knees, knock us flat on our bellies and we find a way to stand back up again and again and again.  We come to see the true power that lies within us not to figure out or avoid life but to meet life and dance with it and allow it to take us into new depths, unlocking inner and outer doors, ushering us in to new energies, a higher vibration where we come alive more and more and more as we see the blessedness that we are and life is. 

The invitation this Thanksgiving Day is to BE Inspired by YOU and your life!  Claim the truth:  You are a miracle!  Own the fact that you are the hero of your life doing whatever you have had to do to get where you are today and will continue to do this, to free more of you, stepping into your truth, discovering your truest life until your last breath.  Ground in the blessedness that is you!  Give thanks.  Say Thank you! for the totality of your human experience – that which you curse and that which you welcome understanding with eyes wide open that everything led you right here and now into this moment, into the person you are.  Look back on your life with eyes of awe and wonder appreciating your strength and courage and go forward in present time with all of this inspiration fueling you and your adventure.  Dare to dream, to step into new life, giving thanks for the blessings AND asking for more (please!) as there is always more to come as long as breath pulses through our bodies.  Go ahead!  Be the STAR in your favorite movie and story that reminds you ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.  Sip your breath into your bones and FEEL the sense of Self that awakens your heart’s desires and deepest knowing that you are here to come alive living INSPIRED by the miracle of your life and all life.

The holidays are WONDERFUL and they are stressful.  During the Thanksgiving holiday shopping craze, the stores jam-packed as everybody is checking their lists and checking them twice and franticly trying to knock this chore out, I met a dear boy in a man’s body working at the store.  His name was Josh and he had the smile of an angel, an innocence that swept me in.  We chatted about brussel sprouts and his dislike of eggplant.  He reminded me how powerful pausing to connect is especially during the holiday season when life already lived at a hectic pace speeds up even more as the “to do” list piles up.  And his smile, so magical and lovely nourished me inspiring me to use the power of my smile to connect with everyone I encountered throughout the store.  Looking people in the eye, seeing them and smiling, sending the love, the energy of my happy heart into their heart actually amped up my joy meter as the truth that in giving we receive holds eternal.  The simple yet profound gift of a SMILE lifts us all!

The invitation this day is to SMILE!  Smile all damn day no matter what and see the transforming effect your smile has on you and others.  It is free!  Your smile, an offering from you to others reminding your Self and them that life is indeed good any way you slice it or dice it.  Return to the innocence of your heart like my new friend Josh where love springs without ceasing.  Tune in to the essence of you, beyond the roles you play, pure beauty and truth singing, echoing, dancing, delighting for no reason and a million reasons.  Carry an abiding thank you in your heart for the privilege to be you, to live this life, to journey this grand adventure.  Touch your truest Self and share the pure joy of this with others.  Go see for your Self:  When you smile, the WORLD SMILES with YOU!

I must share, in meeting Josh all I could think is The joke is on us!  His store manager approached us to be sure my needs were being taken care of.  I assured him that Josh was top notch at customer service and I was grateful.  When Josh walked away, the manager who was a kind soul shared how the special needs employees were such gifts to him and all.  Josh embodied such a light as do all those we label special needs.  The joke is on us because we tend to feel sorry for them and think what a tragedy it is that they are not normal like us and don’t function like us in society.  Their “work” in this world is to mirror the truth reminding us who we really are, helping us to see the divine essence within us all that we often fail to recognize.  Josh is an angel showering this world with light from his presence and his SMILE! He is actually taking care of our special needs: to connect honestly with our Self and others, to know we matter and we are loved. He is pure in that he is free of the mental constructs that block the blessedness each of us IS.

Thinking of Josh, I SMILE wide with all of me!  And makes me excited that I too get to share my Self smile by smile with the world.

Thanksgiving is 2 days away!  Yesssss.  My favorite holiday, truly, because this day has a distinct energy as the whole of the United States pauses to count blessings, to tune in to the gifts bestowed on each of us simply because we have life.  The attitude of gratitude is miraculous, a force so powerful it brings the light into the darkest moments of our life.  We can feel a cutting pain that takes us to our knees and simultaneously be grateful that we can actually feel, that we get to experience the totality of this life – all the pain and all the joy and everything in between. 

The day my late-husband John died, I was swallowed by the grief, in shock screaming out and whimpering as noises came from the depths of me expressing the pure anguish AND I kept saying:  Oh my Gosh!  I got to be his wife.  We had a great life.  I experienced a miracle in the way we loved.  There was nothing left unsaid between us.  I know he always knew I loved him and he loved me.  It is not either or.  We can be taken into the horrors of life and simultaneously count our blessings which lightens our heavy hearts in the midst of challenges that come for us all – a part of this human journey.  And because the day John died was the worst day of my life, I USE this day to remind myself the blessing life is, the blessing I am come what may.  I see the strength that lies within me and appreciate all that I am, this immeasurable force manifest as Kathy, remembering how tall I stood as life took me to my knees, as I laid on my belly and curled into a ball overwhelmed.

No matter our age.  No matter where we are on our journey.  No matter how successful we are.  No matter how confident or self-assured we are.  We ALL want to know we count! We often wait for others to let us know we count and this feels absolutely awesome when others see the beauty we are, the goodness, expressing their gratitude for us.  But we must know we count!  We must put our Self on the top of the list and count our Self, our life first, stoking that inner fire, showering our Self with big love.  For all we give our Self, we can give to others.  When our hearts our happy filled with a sense of Self, we want others to be happy and want them to know how amazing they are.  We can’t give what we don’t have to give!  And we actually have everything to give, our Self and nothing to lose, because we are here to live the blessedness we are, true generosity, sharing our gifts, the abundance of life we are.  Standing tall in this energy, knowing and believing with all of us that we are blessings, we see the blessings others are even those we don’t particularly like.

The invitation this day is to count blessings and start with YOU!  Write down or list in your head all that you appreciate about YOU.  This is YOU fueling your life the way you gas up your car in order to get where you need to go – you can’t go where you want to go on empty.  LOVE your Self UP!  Let all the goodness you are wash over you – mind, body, heart and soul.  Elevate your energy!  Awaken your vitality!  Remember the beauty, the magnificence you are.  Count blessings all day long and one day, you will recognize it is ALL BLESSINGS – that which we curse and that which we welcome.  LIFE is the greatest gift and life expressing as YOU is the greatest offering.  This is TRUTH even if you don’t recognize it but ohhhhh, life is so damn fun when we walk each day knowing the gift we are and seeing our unique effect on this wonderful world.
