Choice.

It is liberating to know every choice matters, every choice brings information and clarity helping us move onward and upward on our path creating a life we absolutely love filled with joy, wonder, magic, grace and hope – all ours for the claiming.  It is essential to let go of the idea that there are right or wrong choices which can paralyze us from making any choice at all fearing mistakes, trying to live without falling down or getting in the muck.  Choice by choice whether we label them small or big, we make our way day by day living this adventure that can be messy, terrifying, ugly as well as easy, exhilarating and magnificent.  Exercising our power of choice, acknowledging where we are, refusing to wallow or stay stuck in attitudes, beliefs and situations that make us victims of our own life, we live free – we are the heroes of our own lives doing what we gotta’ do to open ourselves to the good that is sure to come rising from the ashes, ushering us into the miracles we are and life is ever-flowing, ever-shifting, leading us home to our truest Self and truest life. 

While attending a Jack Canfield seminar 20 years ago focusing on Self-esteem, he taught us a formula that changed my life.  E+R=O which is EVENTS + RESPONSE = OUTCOME.  Events will happen that we want to run from and pretend it never happened but all events bring opportunities no matter how chaotic, traumatic or devastating.  Grounding in this perspective takes us into our Spirit that allows us to walk in Faith, Trust and Certainty even in the midst of personal hells.  How we respond to the events that come our way moment by moment creates the outcome.  I am a huge believer that we mustn’t gloss over our feelings.  We are emotional beings and cutting off our feelings attempting to manage and control them shuts down an integral part of our humanness.  Events happen and we must allow our Self to have our personal experience around them feeling the fear that washes up, cursing the events that we want to wish away; and moving forward step by step with choices that lead us into the outcome that is evidence of amazing grace at work in all life events.    

The invitation this day is to be consciously aware that every choice matters.  Worry not about right or wrong choices.  Tune into how you feel when making a choice whether you feel empowered or disempowered.  Make choices that honor you, that free you, that let you know that you’ve got your own back and are in charge of your life.  If you don’t like where you are, dare to make a different choice and watch your life unfold.  Choices that seem small are actually huge because we generally give our power away in a million tiny ways that seem benign but actually violate the Truth of who we are and what we want.  Choose you.  Give your Self whatever you need. Don’t dismiss what you want.  You Matter and knowing this you will make choices that reflect this sense of worth.  Peace at the price of you is no peace at all.  Choose to love your Self and this love will pour into all of your relationships where it is easy to become resent and become bitter trying to be who they need or expect us to be.  Show them how to live free choice by choice day by day.
