I awakened this morning at 3:05 a.m. anticipating Santa’s arrival as I did in childhood.  I laid in the bed wide awake giggling as I recalled Christmases past.  I opened the curtains to commune with the darks skies containing one visible star – HEAVEN!  The gift of this unexpected wake-up call from my Spirit.  As a child, my mom would send my happyassJ back to bed as I peeked down the staircase at midnight wondering if Santa had come yet because I just couldn’t sleep tossing and turning with pure excitement pulsing through my body.  What an amazing feeling!  I feel it in my bones this morning as I step into the magic of this day and of my life abundant and beautiful beyond words.  And I wish this for all of you.  MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Last night, I went to see a special screening at the Belcourt Theater here in Nashville of It’s a Wonderful Life, my all-time favorite Christmas movie.  As I drove home the title of this Christmas day blog washed over me:  The GREATEST Gift as I know with all of me that no matter – moments of heaven or moments of hell, this life is indeed the greatest gift we are given.  Imagine my surprise and delight to discover after googling It’s a Wonderful Life to check on a quote that the movie is based on a book The Greatest Gift.  HahahaJ!   I felt the gods winking at me and laughing out loud within me over the undeniable connection, one love, creatures of soul ever-guided as we live, as we show up each day unwrapping the gift, present to the magic and miracles that we are and life is.

In the movie, there is a sign hanging on Peter “Pa” Bailey’s office wall that stirs me in the Truth it speaks: All you can take with you is that which you give away.  We are here to love life.  Loving our life makes us rich!  In loving our life appreciating all that we are, we embody generosity as it is our JOY to be who we are and share our Self with the world.  We are enlivened by the exchanges with others knowing that we are the offering and to be present to our Self, we can truly be present to another, seeing our Self and seeing them makes us all whole.  In this vibration of love, we cannot NOT share this palpable energy ever-springing from the depths echoing JOY, our truest Self known, the pure radiance fills our days and lights the way for all.  And love born of the spirit ever-free – infinity dancing at play with us and through us; the love we give and the love we receive is eternal.

An angel, Clarence, is sent from the heavens, an answered prayer to help George Bailey remember that his very life is the greatest gift.  He shows George who wants to end his life overwhelmed by circumstances what the world would be like if he had never been born.  His JOY in living is rediscovered as he sees beyond the muck and is lifted by LOVE.  REMEMEBERing:  Each of us precious.  Each of us a child of the divine.  Each of us is essential to the whole.  Each of us matters!  Each of us affects the lives of countless others – the invisible fingers, the web of life, our interconnectedness – we are in this together in ways we cannot fathom. 

The invitation this Christmas morning is to enter the day with childlike wonder claiming the magic life is and you are here and now, finding your happy that leaves your eyes twinkling as you touch the joy ever-spiraling from the depths of you, remembering YOU are the greatest gift you give all day every single day.  Say silently and aloud:  Life is the GREATEST gift!  Let this truth fill the cracks in your heart so you can stand whole again feeling the richness, the blessedness you are.  The truest generosity is loving our Self, loving our life and sprinkling this love all over the world for the JOY in sharing!
