SO Guided by SOUL!

When we talk our Self into things stuck in the shoulds – ideas of what is best based on expectations and conditioned responses, when we override our knowings, when we don’t trust our Self, we aren’t allowing the soul to guide us, to guide our lives; we aren’t in alignment with our innate wisdom.  The soul leads us into our highest good and greatest joy always which includes the things we don’t necessarily want to experience or face but is part of freeing more of us as we step into the life we came to live, the life we signed up for.

The hardest part is believing in the guidance, believing what we know when others don’t as it is human nature to want those we share this journey with to see what we see, to approve of our choices and come along with us as we follow our inner compass leading us home to our truest Self and our truest life.  To trust our Self and embark on this solo journey fulfilling our destiny, nourishing our soul as we go into the depths of us and into life, we are liberated and in this freedom, we show others how to return home to their truth.

To walk our path, step by step, day by day, we are so guided by soul in ways we don’t even recognize – little nudges to do this, go there, do that, say this, it’s time for this and so on.  But consciously plugging into this guidance we are partnering with the soul force of the universe, we are straddling this world and realms beyond following the stars as they light the way and help us navigate our lives.  In this energy, we let go of worrying and doubting our choices understanding all experiences serve us and give us information to step into other choices.  Grounded in trust and certainty that we are ever-guided, we walk with faith not by sight empowered in the truest sense.

As I put away all of the dishes, pots, pans, the table and chairs that we used for our Thanksgiving celebration, I had a flash, a knowing wash into my psyche and into my body:  All the things I picked up here and there that seemed so random were for this special day that I had no idea on the human level would occur but my soul ever-guiding KNEW I would host this special day and need this and that.  And then the sweetest whisper blew amazing grace through me:  This is how guided YOU ARE! down to bringing home from my last trip to the houseboat just a month ago these stainless steel mixing bowls that I had duplicates of.

Then, more evidence of how we are sooooo guided by soul washed upon my shore.  The folding table I bought at Sam’s Club came to mind - it has a handle and I can store under the guest bed so I could leave my condo with the open space I absolutely love – not adding a dining room table.  Perfect! It really is all so damn perfect!  Meeting my beloved soul companion, LeAnna last Thanksgiving in Nashville (which I chose for no definitive reason!) as I was guided to head out of town, just leave Indianapolis because I knew I could not do the holidays as I had always done before, that it felt violating to keep plugging myself into rituals that filled me with excruciating pain and simply no longer fit.  That entire trip down to the hotel I selected which wasn’t downtown Nashville and was located just 2 blocks away from the restaurant LeAnna was serving at.  The concierge had recommended another restaurant but I walked in and wasn’t feeling it so I walked right back out and started to head back to the hotel when I felt this nudge to go to the next restaurant where I met LeAnna which changed my life and her life as our lives became tethered fueling each other in ways that leave me awestruck.

I delight as the events that lined up in order for me to meet my beloved soul companion, D in perfect time: Click!  Click!  Click!  I see all the synchronicity involved as the soul guided us into each other’s lives.  That day, I had left the houseboat much earlier than my original plan feeling ready to get back to Nashville.  I took a friend to the airport and had planned to drop off my car and walk to the restaurant to visit LeAnna and eat an early dinner; but my over-flowing bladder over-rode my plan and I ended up valet parking and dashing into to pee.  D had just paid his tab and would have been gone if I had stuck to the original plan.  We ended up sitting there for hours – 2 soul companions reconnecting in this lifetime talking and sharing as if we had always known each other, knowing each other at a depth unparalleled, in ways that I never knew was possible – an easiness with each other free of drama and expectations just filled with joy and gratitude.

We are indeed so guided by Soul as it orchestrates the unfolding of our lives in wondrous ways.  The invitation this day is to tune in, notice the inner urges to go there, do this, say that which break you out of routine and patterns and shoulds.  Follow the guidance and see where your soul leads you.  Be excited as you step into this living adventure, present to the direct experiences and stay open as the soul journey is ever-surprising and delighting.  Pause to reflect on how guided you have been the whole of your life scanning the events to see where they led you and how they actually all led you here into this moment.  Every day of our lives we are so guided by soul but recognizing this we get to enjoy the ride even more expecting the miracles and the pure goodness this amazing grace showers us with always!
