As
an 80’s girl, I love me sum Lionel Richie and can sing all of his songs word
for word even when I haven’t sung them in years. I was with friends who are amazing artists
watching video clips of his nationally televised special that aired a couple of
years ago. They had just discovered
Lionel when they flipped on the T.V. and could not stop watching him. They were in awe of him and felt connected to
his depth of honesty saying it like it was, his lovely energy oozing with
playful generosity, his sense of Self and his effect on the artists who
performed his songs – bringing out the best them and helping them go where they
had never gone before. Like Lionel, they
are singers /songwriters – truly souls
on fire bringing through pure passion that pours from them inspiring the world
to celebrate life, to dare to claim the power of love and let it fuel your joy
in living.
Lionel
is a mirror not just for them but for all of us reminding us that there is no thing that is more beautiful or
transforming than a soul of fire. Nothing
outside of us can ignite this fire and awaken this vibration that springs from
the depths of us. It doesn’t matter if we are living life on a small stage or
on the big stage known globally; it only matters that we express uniquely the
Truth of who we are, this love that absolutely heals us and heals this world
starved to connect.
The
invitation this day is to jump into the depths of you, touching your soul on
fire and go on the ride of your life knowing that this day will never come
again and you will never be again – this is your
grand adventure! Nourish all of
you: mind, body, heart and soul. Claim the gifts that come moment by
moment. Invite the beauty that you are
to dance and sing and play in ways that surprise the hell out of you. For when we are surprised by life discovering
more of our Self, we are definitely living open as souls on fire here for this
brief journey welcoming the fun, the celebration with awe and gratitude breath
by magic breath; our hearts light and full of wonder, wandering and laughing
all day long – all night long because
it feels damn good.
